    While Ellyse Perry is arguably the best player in women's cricket at the moment, another Perry will stride to the crease at next year's Twenty20 World Cup


    Popstar Katy Perry has jumped on cricket's bold attempt to break a world record, unveiled as the entertainment for next year's final in Melbourne.

    The final of the tournament, to be held on March 8 - International Women's Day - is aiming to set a new world record for attendance at a women's sporting fixture.

    The current record crowd of 90,185 was set at the 1999 football World Cup final in California.
