    The US Tennis Open will be without both defending champions this year


    Bianca Andreescu has withdrawn, citing unforeseen circumstances including the covid-19 pandemic.

    She joins the likes of Ash Barty, Elina Svitolina and Kiki Bertens.

    Men's defending champion Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Nick Kyrgios are non-starters among the men.

    Novak Djokovic has confirmed he'll be hunting an 18th major singles title.
