Devastation in the Far North, after a Police officer was shot at early this morning near the Puketona Junction

The officer was uninjured but the windscreen of the patrol car was shattered.

The manhunt for two gunmen is continuing.

Far North mayor John Carter says the incident is frightening, and disappointing.

He says the region support the Police, who do a great job.
