A call for Aucklanders to get tested for Covid 19 -- if they may have come into contact with the city's two new community cases

A call for Aucklanders to get tested for Covid 19 -- if they may have come into contact with the city's two new community cases

An adult and child have tested positive for the South African strain of the virus - linked to the existing Northland case, and the Pullman Hotel managed isolation facility.

Covid 19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins says people who visited any of the eight locations at the same time as the pair, are being asked to isolate and get a test.

They include the BBQ King restaurant in Albany, Pak n Save in Silverdale, and the New World and Hickeys Pharmacy in Orewa.

Long queues have been reported at testing centres on the North Shore -- while about 20 cars are waiting in an orderly queue at another testing centre in Balmoral.
