Bay of Plenty remains the most expensive region to rent

Bay of Plenty remains the most expensive region to rent

Trade Me's latest Rental Price Index shows the median weekly rent reached 690 dollars in April - 40 dollars more than the national average.

The region overtook Auckland in December 2023, however Tamaki Makaurau returned to be the priciest in the new year.

Property Sales Director Gavin Lloyd says it's unsettling news for those in the Bay.

He says it's being driven by there being more larger and newer properties.
