Tamaki Makaurau MP Takutai Moana Natasha Kemp is taking a leave of absence to recover from kidney disease

Tamaki Makaurau MP Takutai Moana Natasha Kemp is taking a leave of absence to recover from kidney disease

Ex Manurewa Marae chief executive and Te Pati Maori MP says she's been feeling unwell for some time - and is taking six weeks off to focus on her health and wellbeing.

Kemp and her party have faced scrutiny in recent months over allegations census data and covid-19 vaccination information were used for campaigning purposes.

The allegations are being probed by Stats NZ and have been referred to Police and the Electoral Commission.

Kemp says she's looking forward to returning with renewed energy.
