Elvis Presley's estate have cast doubt on the authenticity of items being offered for sale at auction

Graceland ex ecutives are suspicious of items being offered for sale by GWS Auctions - whose owner, Brigitte Kruse, is being sued for financial abuse by the late 'Blue Suede Shoes' hitmaker's ex-wife Priscilla Presley - which are listed as being owned and used by The King, and have raised questions about various lots.

Joel Weinshanker, managing partner of Elvis Presley Enterprises, expressed doubts about a black grommet jacket claimed to have been worn by Elvis in 1972, insisting the unique garment is in Graceland's private collection. Other questionable items include jewelry and a red 1962 Locheet Jetstar plane, which Elvis reportedly never flew on. Many items were accompanied by letters from Priscilla Presley, but some were for items purchased after their divorce. Weinshanker emphasized that Vernon Presley, Elvis's father, kept meticulous records, supporting the estate's knowledge of Elvis's possessions. Brigitte Kruse defended the auction's authenticity, citing Priscilla's personal recollections.
