    To a popular win at the Olympic surfing competition in Tahiti..


    Representing Games host nation France - the 22-year-old Tahitian has prevailed over Australia's Jack Robinson in the gold medal ride-off.

    Vaast has put together a superb final - totalling 17.6 of a possible 20 points - while Robinson only managed one scoring wave.

    American Caroline Marks and Brazil's Tatiana Weston-Webb are currently squaring off for the women's gold medal.
