Our softening economy is likely to continue to slow net migration

Our softening economy is likely to continue to slow net migration

In the year to June our numbers grew by 73-thousand-300, down from a peak gain of 136 thousand to last October.

It's still the third highest June year ever.

ASB economist, Mark Smith, says our tough economy may be dulling the shine of New Zealand as a place to move.

He says student and work visa numbers are still falling.
