Auckland Police are investigating how a fatal shooting in Pakuranga Heights may be linked to a gun being fired at Beach Haven weeks earlier

Courier driver Tuipulotu Vi died on Monday from a gunshot wound in his van on Marvon Downs Avenue.

Police say a familial link's been confirmed between the address, and the one which was shot at in North Shore.

Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers says they're still working to understand motivation, and if gangs are involved.

He's appealing for more public information related to the investigation.
