39 year old man in court today after allegedly driving on wrong side of road through Wellsford

A 39 year old man will be in court today after allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road through Wellsford, North of Auckland with stolen plates early this morning

Police say the driver narrowly avoided a serious crash on State Highway One as he was monitored by the Police Eagle helicopter.

The car was later stopped after being spiked near Greville Road and he was taken into custody.

He faces charges of reckless driving, failing to stop and unlawfully getting into a motor vehicle.
