Addressing disadvantage in the labour market, refreshing the school curriculum, and changes to work visas are part of the Government's plan to help people into work

Addressing disadvantage in the labour market, refreshing the school curriculum, and changes to work visas are part of the Government's plan to help people into work

Social Development Minister Louise Upston has released a plan of 12 actions across multiple portfolios -- including Education and Immigration.

She says it replaces the previous Government's seven population-based employment plans, as having separate strategies across agencies made working together difficult.

Upston says the plan aims to get people into work quickly, support them to have the skills required, and to improve employers' access to those skills.
