    Police are appealing for witnesses, after the death of a man allegedly assaulted in central Wellington


    Luke Smith was rushed to hospital in critical condition from Courtenay Place - after being injured early on Sunday morning.

    He was taken off life support and died overnight.

    A 29 year old man, understood to be a boxer, appeared in court yesterday accused of assault - and will reappear later in the month.
