More buyer interest in the housing market

More buyer interest in the housing market

Real Estate Institute figures show the national median house price fell 2.3 percent in the year, to 781-thousand dollars.

Half of the regions had a median price increase.

OneRoof editor Owen Vaughan says interest rate cuts haven't filtered through to prices yet -- but things are heating up.

He says buyer enquiries have lifted 20 percent since the first Official Cash Rate cut in August.
