The Prime Minister says funding for climate resilience is a sign of New Zealand being a good partner and friend to the Pacific

The Prime Minister says funding for climate resilience is a sign of New Zealand being a good partner and friend to the Pacific

Chris Luxon and Foreign Minister Winston Peters announced the Government will contribute $20-million to the Pacific Resilience Facility.

The money will be used to encourage public and private sector spending to prepare Pacific countries for natural disasters, and resilience against climate change.

Mr Luxon says it's exactly what they should be doing.

He says climate resilience is a really good place to be able to put their development and support behind the region, and do something practical.
