Spotify Wrapped 2024: Taylor Swift is in her global top artist era, while The Wiggles dominate locally

Taylor Swift is the most listened-to artist for a second year in a row, according to Spotify Wrapped 2024. In Australia, The Wiggles, The Kid LAROI and AC/DC were the most streamed local artists. See how your listening habits stack up.

Spotify Wrapped is here for 2024.

The global streaming giant had people scratching their heads wondering when they would release their annual campaign in which those who love to listen get a personalised list of what captivated their attention.

Subscribers who were up late would have noticed a glitch in the early hours of Thursday morning before their Spotify Wrapped results appeared.

This year, users are shown how their taste in music has evolved throughout the year. They also received special messages from fan favourites and podcast creators.

In addition, there's insight about what the rest of the country and the world tuned into and what voices are dominating popular culture.

It's fair to say, as Spotify puts it, Taylor Swift is in her global top artist era.

With 26.6 billion streams globally, she's the top artist for a second year in a row. She's also Australia's most streamed artist.

It may come as no surprise that The Wiggles are Australia's most-streamed local artists. The Kid LAROI follows in second place, with AC/DC coming in third.

For the first time, Spotify has included audiobooks in its end-of-year charts, with Prince Harry's Spare coming out on top in Australia. Also for the first time, Spotify has unveiled an AI podcast for users about their listening habits throughout the year.

Joe Rogan took out the top podcast spot for the fifth year in a row globally. More than half a billion people have listened to a podcast on Spotify since they entered the space in 2019.

How can I see my Spotify Wrapped?

If you're having trouble accessing your Spotify Wrapped, Spotify says it could be because you haven't updated your app. Otherwise, Wrapped should populate on your "Home" screen as soon as you open Spotify.
