Cryptopia liquidators have made a huge dent as they look to pay out former account holders

Cryptopia liquidators have made a huge dent as they look to pay out former account holders

Liquidators Grant Thornton have paid out over 400-million-dollars to more than 10-thousand verified accounts in the past two days.

It's part of a process to identify nearly 960-thousand users, with the exchange closing after being hacked in 2019.

Koura Wealth managing director Rupert Carlyon , says they have to find former customers from all over the world.

He says there are customers in countries where cryptocurrencies are illegal, and that money can't actually be given back to them.
