Silver Ferns coach Dame Noeline Taurua is adamant an upcoming summer camp with her squad will make up for a lack of test fixtures on the netball calendar

January's Nations Cup - which features New Zealand, Australia, England and South Africa - is no longer going ahead, leaving a gap in their schedule to begin the year.

The Ferns will instead embark on a nine-day training camp, which includes a contest against shooter Grace Nweke's New South Wales Swifts.

Taurua says her squad will gain the necessary experience from the Australian trip.
