The new year has also seen four new medicines available for New Zealanders

The new year has also seen four new medicines available for New Zealanders

Pharmac has begun funding Tagrisso , as a first treatment option for people with a type of advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

Patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer also have access to Enhertu -- expected to benefit around 120 people.

Also on the cards is a new RSV treatment, and a new inhaler for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Associate Health Minister David Seymour says Pharmac continues to show what it's capable of when given the support it needs, with early signs of its redirection remaining positive.
