The Government's investment in attracting events, is expected to make a 17-fold return

Three-million dollars is being spent so Tourism New Zealand can bid for up to 110 international conferences a year.

Business Events Industry Aotearoa says it will bring a broader spectrum of people who are usually higher spending visitors.

Chief Executive Lisa Hopkins says it'll make New Zealand more competitive with the Australian market.

She says it will benefit the event industry as well as hospitality, hotels, and overall tourism.
