An Auckland funeral director's pleaded not guilty to charges of obtaining money by deception, and interfering with human remains

An Auckland funeral director's pleaded not guilty to charges of obtaining money by deception, and interfering with human remains

He's been granted interim name suppression in Auckland District Court today.

The 53-year-old is accused of obtaining 18-thousand dollars by deception.

Herald Reporter Raphael Franks says it comes only weeks after Fiona Bakulich - a former Tipene Funerals undertaker and Casketeers star - admitted scamming grieving clients.

He says Tipene Funerals has distanced itself from this man's arrest, posting a video saying it's not them.
