Demi Lovato appreciates being in a "supportive relationship"

The 32-year-old singer is engaged to the musician Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes, and Demi has revealed that she relishes having the support of her fiance

The 'Cool for the Summer' hitmaker - who announced her engagement to Jutes in December 2023 - told Us Weekly: "I think being in a supportive relationship is just so rewarding, because no matter what endeavours we embark on, I know that my partner will always support me."

Demi has struggled with mental illnesses - including bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety - over the years, and the pop star now considers good physical health to be key to her mental health.

She shared: "You just have to find balance in everything you do, whether it's with working or resting. Rest and recovery are equally as important to working out as the actual workouts themselves."

Demi has been focused on her health and wellness goals in recent times, but the singer feels "excited for the year ahead".

The chart-topping star - who was previously dated Wilmer Valderrama - revealed: "I'm currently in the studio. I can't say much more now, but I am excited for the year ahead!"

Meanwhile, Jutes previously revealed that he isn't in a rush to tie the knot.

The musician admitted that the loved-up couple are determined to take their time, as they plan their perfect wedding day.

He told PEOPLE: "We're not trying to stress ourselves out.

"I feel like a lot of weddings can be stressful and very quick, and so we're on it, but we're also taking our time, and we're also just enjoying being engaged."

Jutes observed that they'll be "married forever", meaning they don't need to rush towards their wedding day.

He said: "We're not trying to skip engagement to get right to wedding. We're just basking in it and soaking it up. We'll be married forever. We just want to enjoy every step."

Prior to that, Demi hailed Jutes as her perfect partner.

The singer told PEOPLE: "You know, I've waited my whole life for him.

"It's very grounding to have a partner who is so supportive, so loving, so caring. It's very easy to stay centred with him, because I love him so much and he treats me so amazing."
