    Daniel Hillier's shot the second best round on the final day to win the Challenge Costa Brava in Spain - his maiden victory on the Challenge Tour


    The Kiwi golfer's finished on top by one stroke at 19 under par overall, following a six under 65 fourth-round that included nine birdies.

    He is one of 45 players who advance to next month's Tour finals, of which 20 players will then gain full European Tour status.



    Canterbury have suffered a surprise third-successive loss in the NPC, going down to Otago 22-20 in Dunedin.

    Josh Ioane kicked the Razorbacks to victory with 17 points off the tee, including a late go-ahead penalty near the touchline.

    While Otago sit third in the championship, Canterbury are struggling in fifth in the premiership, two points off a finals spot.



    Namibia have pulled off a surprise upset at the Twenty20 cricket World Cup, defeating Ireland by eight wickets to advance to the next phase of the tournmaent.

    It's the first time the African country have reached the T20 tournament's main draw.

    They enter group two where one of the teams awaiting them will be the Black Caps.
