Silver Ferns defender Karin Burger is encouraged about the mixture of youth and experience in the squad for the Constellation Cup

Young midcourter Claire O'Brien has been picked over the experienced Whitney Souness, while veteran Phoenix Karaka and rookie Parris Mason -- injury-clearance pending -- add to the defensive end.

Burger says the younger players have really stepped up and proved their worth.



The first game is in Wellington on Sunday.
