Another warm and dry summer is on the cards for much of the country

Another warm and dry summer is on the cards for much of the country

NIWA's Seasonal Climate Outlook for November to January is predicting temperatures to be above average, with northeasterly winds leading to more days above 25 degrees than normal.

Principal scientist Chris Brandolino says these higher temps could be felt as early as next weekend.

He says some areas could reach nearly 30 degrees, which will be a taste of what's to come.

The outlook provides some hope for rural communities in Southland after the wettest months on record in September and October.
