The Tall Blacks have overcome a sluggish shooting display to beat Chinese Taipei 81-64 in Christchurch, booking their place in next year's Asia Cup

New Zealand opened up a 17-point lead at quarter-time, only to see that advantage reduced to five before the final stanza.

The hosts made six three-pointers from 31 attempts - and had a 57 percent success rate at the free throw line.

Coach Judd Flavell says their lower ranked opposition applied pressure.
