    One person's died following a two-vehicle crash south of the Hanmer Springs turnoff, in Canterbury's Hurunui


    The collision - before 4.30 yesterday afternoon - closed Mouse Point Road, near Hanmer Springs Road.

    Motorists waited up to five hours at the closure.

    The road re-opened around 11pm following a Serious Crash Unit scene examination.
