The post mortem of a man who died after attacking police on Sunday at Auckland's Orere Point will be completed today

The post mortem of a man who died after attacking police on Sunday at Auckland's Orere Point will be completed today

The man wielded an iron pipe and severely bit an officer's hand before he was tazered, pepper sprayed and targeted by a police dog.

The deceased was a passenger in a car which allegedly fled police before the incident.

The 42-year-old driver of the car has been charged with a pair of aggravated robberies at a bowling alley and a bar in February.

It's also alleged he wore clothes resembling a police uniform during one robbery.
