    Could the All Blacks become a late adopter to one of rugby most innovative tactics of late?


    The Springboks pioneered the 7-1 bench of forwards and backs in 2023, known as the bomb squad, that helped them win the World Cup.

    France have also used the concept, adapted as "le bomb squad", on their way to a Six Nations title in recent times.

    Only once has a team lost in tests when using the tactic.

    All Blacks coach Scott Robertson - speaking to Newstalk ZB's Rugby Direct podcast - says it's something he's thinking about.
