    Bad news for home bakers - has been good news for exporters


    Latest Stats NZ figures show export prices rose 17-percent in the year to March, including a sharp spike in the March quarter.

    Dairy export prices have been growing across the board, with the price of butter up 38-percent.

    Meat export prices are also up, 7.2 percent.

    The trade-weighted index has fallen 5.3 percent, with the Kiwi dollar weakening against most major currencies.
