    ???1;Restaurants and bars are under increasing pressure from rising wage bills


    A new survey from the Restaurant Association, shows wage costs now average about 40-percent of total revenue, for the average business.

    The average hourly wage is now almost 28-dollars -- up about 2.5 percent on a year ago -- with head chefs averaging 47-dollars.

    Salaried roles now average about 83-thousand-dollars a year, with general managers averaging about 133-thousand.

    Wait staff also taking home about 118-dollars a week, on average, in tips.
