A woman's reappearing in court tomorrow - charged with neglect after a two-year-old was discovered hidden inside a suitcase in a bus luggage-compartment

A woman's reappearing in court tomorrow - charged with neglect after a two-year-old was discovered hidden inside a suitcase in a bus luggage-compartment

The little girl was found when the bus stopped in Northland's Kaiwaka yesterday - hot but seeming unharmed.

Police say she is medically well, and Oranga Tamariki's working with whanau to ensure her care.

Herald Reporter Katie Harris says the woman's appeared in the North Shore District Court today - where she didn't enter a plea, and was granted name suppression.

She says there was no mention of the toddler or their whereabouts during the hearing.
