Elvis Presley's personalised bedazzled jockstrap is up for sale

The late 'Jailhouse Rock' hitmaker - who died in 1977 aged 42 - was given the rhinestone-studded intimate garment - which bears his initials - by a fan and it had been housed in the Elvis Presley Museum collection in Memphis, but now the framed piece of underwear is available from Paul Fraser Collectables for £35,000.

A listing for the item states in part: "A rhinestone jockstrap bearing Elvis Presley's initials ("EP"). Once housed in the Elvis Presley Museum collection in Memphis, curated by Elvis' long time friend Jimmy Velvet.

"According to Velvet, the jockstrap was gifted to Elvis by a fan.

"Housed in an attractive display frame."

The collectors website are also selling locks of Elvis' hair for £150,000, which were obtained when The King had hit locks shorn for his military service in the 1950s.

The listing explained: "The most famous hair cut of all...

"At the height of his fame, Elvis Presley was drafted into the US Army, triggering an anguished outcry from his young female fans.

"Elvis spent three days at Fort Chaffee. It was there he received his famous haircut on March 25 1958.

"Not to miss a trick, Elvis' manager Col. Tom Parker had arranged for the press to attend the hair cut.

"The hair from this historic cut was passed to Elvis' close friend Gary Pepper to share amongst Elvis fan club members around the globe.

"Gary Pepper was the President of one of Elvis' first fan clubs, allowing him to amass a significant collection of personal effects gifted to him from Elvis himself.

"These large locks of Elvis Presley hair is from the famed Gary Pepper collection of Elvis memorabilia."

Fans who don't want to splash out that much can also buy a single strand of the music legend's hair for £399.
