A new survey has revealed how much pets positively impact their owner's wellbeing

A new survey has revealed how much pets positively impact their owner's wellbeing

Petdirect's first Pet Survey -- covering more than six-thousand owners -- found around 37-percent of households spent more than two-thousand-dollars a year on their pets.

It also showed over 84-percent had concerns for their furry friend's health -- with dental and anxiety being the biggest concerns.

But, in-house vet Feargus McConnell says those concerns are balanced out by the positives.

He says 78-percent felt their pet makes them laugh on a daily basis, and another 70-percent felt their pet makes them relaxed or comfortable.
