The New Zealand mixed eight have qualified for the final of their event at the rowing World Championships in Shanghai

They finished fourth in their heat, but advanced based on their time.

Meanwhile, the mixed doubles sculls pairing of Kathryn Glen and Benjamin Mason have missed out on the final after coming in fifth in their heat.

The historic introduction of mixed racing at the world championships saw a Romanian husband-and-wife duo claim victory in the other mixed double sculls heat.
