Kate Cassidy has recalled her "long, heartfelt" final goodbye to Liam Payne

The 26-year-old influencer had left the former One Direction singer in Argentina to return to the US just days before he fell to his death from his hotel balcony on 16 October last year and she admitted it is "weird" to look back on the last time she saw her boyfriend because she had spent so much time talking about her feelings for him

She said in a video shared to TikTok: "I come on here not to cry - I feel honestly extremely numb today.

"I actually think somebody could slap me across the face and I wouldn't be fazed.

"I wanted to make this video because I wanted to express how important it is to really remind your loved ones how much you love them. I know I say it, but you never know what tomorrow brings."

Kate grew emotional as she detailed her final moments with Liam.

She continued: "I was sitting on the couch, just expressing to him how much I'm going to miss him, how much I love him.

"Honestly, it's so weird to look back at because it was such a long, heartfelt goodbye. He looked at me and he said, '[Kate], you're going to miss your flight. You're acting like this is the last time you're ever going to see me again.' And little did I know, it literally was the last time I got to see him."

But the social media star admitted she is "so, so glad" they said their farewells in such a meaningful way.

She added: "I'm so, so glad that me and Liam had that last goodbye the way it was."

Kate recently admitted she struggled to "live [her] life" in the wake of Liam's death.

She told Page Six at a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) benefit: "I was always just kind of doing nothing and just dealing with that grief and pain, just not wanting to really live my life.

"I finally realised, ok, I need to live my life, I need to get up, get out of bed."

Kate recalled how she started by setting an alarm to get out of bed one hour earlier each day and began "working out" and "eating clean" and continues to do so for the sake of her mental health.

She said: "I like to always be up early, have a workout class planned, go for a nice walk, eat cleaner. I feel like, for me, being active, always keeps my mind so much cleaner and healthier."
