Glen Powell has been secretly studying for a degree at the University of Texas

The Twisters star has revealed he's been enrolled at the institution for a year since moving back to his home state from Los Angeles and he's now looking forward to his second semester as a student.

He told Vanity Fair magazine: "I literally just paid my tuition two days ago for next semester."

Powell previously signed up for a degree course at the University of Texas after finishing high school back in 2008 but he later dropped out and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career.

However, he's now giving his studies another shot.

Powell was previously an economics student but he is now studying to become a bachelor of science in radio-television-film.

He told Variety: "I was actually an econ major initially, and then I had to transfer so I could finish up. I transferred to radio-television-film.

"I'm finishing properly. I'm not doing the honorary degree ... I'm taking six credits a semester. So, I will finish in spring 2027 ... It's been nuts.

"I'll throw a graduation party if you guys want to tear it up in Austin."

He previously explained he's been able to attend lectures and compete coursework over Zoom so he could still make movies while studying.

He told IndieWire: "I'm not going to be sitting in a class with other students on the regular [campus] ...

"I'm basically going to be coming back because I have to finish up, but I'm going to be shooting The Running Man in the fall. So I'm going to be in London, but

"I am going to be going back for proctored exams. So, they're letting me figure it out [with] distance learning.

"And I'm obviously going to be coming in, Zooming in for classes and whatnot, but I have to be back for the proctored exams. So, we're figuring that out for two or three times a semester, I'll come back for all my stuff. "

He went on to add The Running Man director Edgar Wright also helped him fit his studies around his work while they were shooting the blockbuster.

Powell said: "Edgar has been very nice about letting me finish my degree in the middle of his massive movie."
