Kate Middleton releases photo of family to celebrate Prince William's birthday

The Princess of Wales posts an image of the Prince of Wales to social media for his birthday, showing William jumping in the air hand-in-hand with children George, Charlotte and Louis.

Catherine, Princess of Wales has posted an image of the Prince of Wales with the couple's three children to celebrate her husband's 42nd birthday.

Kate posted the image to social media, showing Prince William jumping in the air hand-in-hand with George, Charlotte and Louis, along with the message:

"Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much! Cx."

King Charles III also posted a social media message to celebrate his son's birthday, which falls on June 21.

The black-and-white image shows the king holding an infant William on his lap.

Last week Kate made her first public appearance in close to six months at the Trooping the Colour parade in London.

Wearing a black-and-white dress, she left Buckingham Palace in a carriage with her children to watch the parade.

After the ceremony finished, she appeared on the famous balcony at the palace alongside other members of the royal family, as a large crowd cheered below.

The princess had last been seen in an official capacity at a church service on Christmas Day.

The royal underwent abdominal surgery in January and has been receiving chemotherapy since late February after a cancer diagnosis.

Kensington Palace has declined to provide specifics on her health, but has described her chemotherapy as "preventative".

In her statement prior to the King's Birthday Parade, Kate said she was having "good days and bad days" and was "not out of the woods yet".

"My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months," she said.

"On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home."

Last weekend she shared another photo of William and the family at the beach for Father's Day.

The image showed William and their children hugging as they looked out at the ocean.
