Martha Stewart has slammed trolls for branding her mansion makeover "bland and boring"

The former 'Martha Stewart Show' host, 82, who has made a fortune as one of the US' leading homemaking experts, was targeted by keyboard warriors after she shared several snaps online showing a quick change to the interior of her luxury Skylands estate in Maine.

After she was bombarded with hate over her décor, she hit back on Instagram: "I rarely read all the comments that come in after I post but because I was so happy at the transformation of my Maine living room I did go through many of the comments and was surprised at the harsh judgment so many displayed!!!"

She added at the time of her post of her home interior she and her crew of assistants had spent three hours "moving out the old furniture" and installing new pieces.

Martha added she was "pleased" at the final effect even though she had not drafted in a "professional" interior decorator.

She said: "It was an attempt to change quickly and efficiently.

"Making a house a home, or a room a beautiful liveable space takes a lot more than three hours.

"Of course there will be colour, plants, mirrors, a new rug or two and other art and objects Stay tuned!!!!"

Martha's snaps of the home showed how it was mainly cream, brown and beige - prompting trolls to compare it to a "furniture showroom" and say it "didn't look homely", with others branding the colour scheme "bland" and "boring".

Martha was last summer trolled for sinking a "small iceberg" into her cocktail on a cruise from Greenland from Iceland.

The former TV host showed off her drink on an Instagram Story during her holiday - sparking massive backlash from fans as it used pieces of naturally formed bergs in her booze amid the climate change crisis that has seen wildfires sweep the globe this summer.

She was accused of posting a "tone deaf" update on her social media by bragging about her use of the ice during a Swan Hellenic cruise on the SH Vega expedition ship.

Martha hit back on Instagram by posting an image of an iceberg with the caption: "Pleated iceberg. perfect for cocktails!"

She also reposted a Washington Post article with the headline, 'Martha Stewart put an iceberg in her drink. Experts say it's no big deal'.
