    A triple blow to the All Blacks loose forward stocks on the eve of their departure for the five-test end-of-year tour


    Ethan Blackadder, Luke Jacobson and Dalton Papali'i won't travel to Japan due to injury.

    Blackadder's monitoring a calf muscle, Jacobson's fractured his thumb and Papali'i has a hamstring strain.

    The trio will be reassessed prior to the team leaving for England.

    Wellington flanker Peter Lakai and Taranaki lock Josh Lord have been called in as cover.

    Meanwhile, seven of the All Blacks development XV squad not involved in this weekend's NPC semi-finals will travel to Japan as training cover.

    The forwards are Taranaki's Bradley Slater and Otago's George Bower, Fabian Holland, Christian Lio-Willie and Oliver Haig - the backs are Auckland's Harry Plummer and AJ Lam.
