The Government's making changes - to better protect kids from child offenders in schools

The Department of Internal Affairs has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the New Zealand Teaching Council.

It'll improve information sharing about individuals working in schools, who are under investigation for child sex abuse material related offences.

Internal Affairs Minister Brooke van Velden says the Department will now share information directly with the Council - resulting in faster action.
