Dry weather looks to be the theme for the rest of the year

NIWA has released it's Seasonal Climate Outlook for November to January.

It's forecasting there to be just over a 50 percent chance La Niña will officially develop by the end of the year.

Principal scientist Chris Brandolino says this event is likely to be weak and short-lived.

He says they're still expecting to see La Niña type of behaviour, which is having settled and dry weather.
