The murderer of Christchurch real estate agent Yanfei Bao will face sentencing for his crime in March

A jury's found Tingjun Cao guilty of stabbing Bao after luring her to a property viewing in July last year.

Cao failed to persuade the jury, by claiming the majority of the crown and police evidence was falsified, accusing almost 40 witnesses of lying.

Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves says the drawn-out proceedings have taken a heavy toll on the victim's friends and family.

She hopes they can take comfort in knowing the person responsible for her death, will be held to account.
