Investigations continue into a Police officer being hurt on the job

Investigations continue into a Police officer being hurt on the job

A 47-year-old man's appeared in court, accused of hitting an officer with a vehicle in Huntly on Wednesday -- giving them moderate injuries.

On New Year's Day another officer was killed when hit by a vehicle in Nelson, and a second officer was injured.

Police Association president Chris Cahill says deliberate incidents of this nature are not common - but this latest injury highlights the risk police officers face.
