Hunters are being urged to take care and prioritise safety as they head out this roar season

Hunters are being urged to take care and prioritise safety as they head out this roar season

This year's roar - or deer breeding season - coincides with Easter weekend, meaning extra people in the bush.

Deerstalkers Association's Mike Spray says hunters should follow key safety rules of identification and communication when out hunting.

He says people need to follow all parts of the rule, even if that means letting something go.
