    Inflation is on the rise again

    Inflation is on the rise again


    Latest Stats NZ figures show the Consumers Price Index rose 2.7 percent in the year to June.

    Inflation has fallen from 7.3-percent three years ago to just 2.2 percent last year - but has been on the rise since.

    Economists were expecting today's figure to land between 2.6 and 2.9 percent.

    The rate's expected to rise even higher this quarter, before again easing later this year.
