    Many kiwis are facing a shock at local supermarkets over the price of mince - but an expert believes cheaper options are available


    Mince has soared in price by 16 percent over the past year.

    Beef & Lamb Chief Executive Kit Arkwright says supermarkets make their pricing decisions on a range of factors that change each week.

    He says it could be cheaper one day and more expensive the next, so consumers should explore their options.
