    International students seem to be flocking back to New Zealand, but we haven't yet reached full capacity


    The 2025 International Student Experience Survey shows the number of students enrolled in domestic institutes, has almost doubled to 64-thousand since 2023.

    China and India remain the biggest source of students, followed by the likes of Japan, USA and Sri Lanka.

    Education New Zealand Chief Executive Amanda Malu says they're working with the sector to try get back to full capacity.

    She says the plan is to double the value of international education by 2034.
