    Crusaders coach Rob Penney's relaxed about the terms of Scott Barrett's break from Super Rugby


    The All Blacks captain has exercised the non-playing sabbatical clause in his contract - meaning he'll miss most of the regular season.

    Codie Taylor took up a similar arrangement in 2024.

    Penney says Barrett has earned the right to come back when he chooses.



    The Crusaders have signed Otago's Will Tucker as additional lock cover while Barrett is away.

    There's no room in their 38 man squad for centurion Mitch Drummond.
