Scepticism about a free trade agreement with India, less than a year out from the election

The deal would cut or remove tariffs on 95 percent of exports and includes commitments for private sector investment of nearly 35 billion dollars over 15 years.
Law Expert Jane Kelsey says it's questionable when politicians do a deal within months - especially when negotiations have been stalled for years.
She says that is a signal the Government's prepared to roll over and agree to outcomes, simply for the photo opportunity of a deal.
